The Photos - Nine Lowell Wrestlers Earn Top-4 Honors

9 of Lowell’s combined 15 wrestlers placed this weekend in Ford Field. All nine who placed went top four. The weekend was highlighted for the boys by a state championship from Jarrett Smith at 120 pounds. Smith finished the season 49-2 and won the title with four bonus-point victories, including a fall in the opening round and three straight technical falls to secure the championship. He finishes as a three-time champion. The Red Arrows also had two finalists as fellow seniors Logan Dawson (144) and Seth Harvey (175) each finished as runners-up after reaching the championship matches.

Lowell added several more placers, with Cole Cichocki (138) finishing third, while John Carter McKay (113), Carson Blum (126), and Cody Foss (150) each placed fourth. Braylen Meeuwsen (285), Trevor Boone (157), and Weston McFarland (215) also competed in the tournament. On the girls side, Tatianna Castillo won the 110-pound state championship to finish the season 34-1. Veronica Tapia placed fourth at 100 pounds and scored 18 team points. Lana Sheehan (110) scored 3.5 team points, Analize Tapia (190) scored 4.0 team points, and Brianne Belleville (190) also competed for Lowell at the state finals.
