Red Arrow Preps is giving back to the community with a new $1,000 scholarship for a Lowell High School senior who plans to pursue media or a related field in college.
The one-time award will support a member of the Class of 2027 with an interest in storytelling, communications and community involvement, extending Red Arrow Preps’ mission of celebrating local students and sharing their stories.
“We’re honored to give back to the Lowell community and help a student take the next step toward their future,” said Red Arrow Preps founder Justin Scott, a 2013 Lowell High School graduate who earned a marketing degree from Western Michigan University.
“Red Arrow Preps exists to highlight the people and experiences that make our schools special, from sports and theatre to music and more. We want to give those stories the attention they deserve on a website readers can enjoy without intrusive advertising.”
Red Arrow Preps is locally owned and funded entirely by subscribers and local advertisers. That support sustains its community coverage and makes this scholarship possible.
“Every subscription and local advertising partnership helps us tell Lowell’s stories and invest in its future,” Scott said. “We’re grateful to everyone who supports this work. This scholarship is another way we can turn that support into something meaningful for our students.”
Applications open November 16, 2026, through Lowell High School’s local scholarship process and are due January 8, 2027. Seniors will receive an invitation to the school’s Scholarship Google Classroom in November.
Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate community involvement and plan to major in media, public relations, communications, marketing, journalism, writing or photography. Students living within Lowell Area Schools boundaries and School of Choice students are eligible.
The scholarship will be presented at Senior Honors Night on May 18, 2027.
Students with questions about applying can contact the Lowell High School Counseling Office.
