LHS Sophomore Gabe Fuss Jumps into Music

Lowell sophomore Gabe Fuss has been steadily growing into his music over the past two years, first picking up the guitar and then discovering his voice as a singer about a year and a half ago. Influenced by artists like Brandon Lake and Sam Barber, Fuss says his interest in music quickly turned into a calling, pushing him to begin writing his own songs.
Wanting to create something both fresh and meaningful, Fuss blends country and indie-folk sounds with his faith. He says he began taking his walk with God seriously in the spring of 2024, a journey that led to his baptism that July, which he describes as the best day of his life. What started as curiosity grew into a deeper commitment that now plays a central role in both his life and his music.
His first published song, Wishing Tree, was written during a season of waiting and personal struggle. Fuss says the song reflects lessons he learned about patience and acceptance, and understanding that life is not always fair or perfectly timed. While the experience shaped the song, he emphasizes that it was a period of growth and reflection rather than something that defines him.
Wishing Tree was produced by Stuart Poltrock at Sound Post Studios. Fuss says working with a producer helped turn ideas that once lived only in his head into a finished, professional track.
“Recording music can be expensive, with most studios charging anywhere from $40 to $100 per hour depending on the producer,” Gabe told Red Arrow Preps.
Fuss says much of his growing audience has come through Spotify’s algorithmic playlists, along with support from classmates and people he knows. Despite balancing school with writing, recording, posting covers, and continuing to learn, he says the time commitment is worth it as long as he is doing what he loves and sharing his story of faith with others. His music has now reached listeners in nearly 70 countries.
Fuss has also begun performing live and will open for Prior Noon at Soundcheck in Lowell on February 28.
“I can’t wait to keep putting more songs out and growing my audience but the main reason for my passion for music is use my gift that God gave me to make others happy,” Fuss concluded.
