Lowell announces full 2026 sports camp lineup
Lowell has released its full 2026 sports camp schedule, with opportunities for athletes ranging from preschool through high school throughout the summer and into the fall. The lineup includes football, basketball, gymnastics, track, volleyball, lacrosse, dance, golf, tennis, soccer, cheer, softball, crew, cross country, wrestling, and a fall volleyball program.
For most camps, May 20 is the deadline to register in order to guarantee a camp T-shirt.
Football
Lowell football will again offer multiple camps this summer under the direction of Lowell varsity head coach Jacob Henige.
The first is Little Arrows, scheduled for May 26-27 for athletes entering PK through 1st grade. Camp will run from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the high school stadium/practice field. The cost is $27 per athlete. Cleats are the only equipment needed.
Lowell’s main Football Camp will run June 8-11 for athletes entering 7th through 12th grade. Camp goes from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the high school stadium/practice field. The cost is $52 per athlete.
The third youth offering is Future State Champs, set for June 15-17 for athletes entering 2nd through 6th grade. Camp will run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the high school stadium/practice field. The cost is $52 per athlete. Cleats are the only equipment needed.
Lowell will also attend the Big Lake Team Camp from July 7-9 for players entering 10th through 12th grade. The camp includes position-specific skills, run and pass concepts, offensive and defensive install time, a 7-on-7 tournament, 11-on-11 situations, half-line work, a Big Man Challenge, and team-building opportunities. The cost is $217 per athlete. Camp will take place at West Ottawa Stadium, New Athletic Complex and Turf Facility in Holland, with lodging at Hotel Inn Express in Holland. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner are included. Transportation will leave from Lowell High School on July 7 at 7:15 a.m., with return on July 10 depending on tournament scheduling. Athletes need a helmet, cleats, and athletic shoes.
Boys Basketball
Lowell’s Youth Boys Basketball Camp is scheduled for June 2-4 for athletes in 3rd through 8th grade. Camp will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $62.
Girls Basketball
Lowell’s Girls Basketball Camp will run June 8-10 for girls in K through 8th grade under the direction of Travis Slanger.
Camp times are split by grade level. K-2nd grade will run from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., 3rd-5th grade from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 6th-8th grade from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $67, which includes a T-shirt.
Camp locations are Murray Lake for K-5th grade and the high school for 6th-8th grade.
According to the camp description, the focus will be on dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, with contests and prizes also built into the experience.
Gymnastics
Lowell’s Gymnastics Camp will be held June 8-10 for girls in K through 5th grade under the direction of Michele DeHaan.
Campers in K-2nd grade will attend from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., while 3rd-5th grade will go from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $62, which includes a T-shirt.
Camp will be held at Runciman Gym. Campers will be introduced to the basics on vault, bars, beam, and floor. The camp is not designed for AAU gymnastics team members.
Track and Field
Lowell’s Track and Field Camp is scheduled for June 8-11 for boys and girls in incoming 1st through 6th grade. The camp will be directed by Paul Judd and current track and field athletes.
Camp runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at LHS Stadium. The cost is $57, which includes a T-shirt.
The camp will introduce foundational skills used in events such as running, sprinting, throwing, and jumping, while also emphasizing teamwork and fun.
Volleyball
Lowell’s Girls Youth Volleyball Camp will take place June 8-10 for girls under the direction of Jordan Drake, Lowell varsity girls volleyball coach.
Camp times are split into two groups. Grades 2nd-5th will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., while grades 6th-9th will go from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The cost is $67.
Camp will be held at the LHS Gym and will focus on skill development with Lowell’s coaching staff.
Lowell will also offer its Volleyball 56ers Fall Season from August 31 through October 8 for Lowell Area Schools 5th and 6th grade girls. The program is directed by Jordan Drake and Abi Mangus.
The fall season includes five weeks of practices, three Saturday tournaments, and a playoff night on October 8. The cost is $67 per athlete, includes a T-shirt, and is limited to 72 athletes.
Practices will be held at Lowell High School’s main and auxiliary gyms, while Saturday tournament play will be held at Lowell High School gyms and Cherry Creek Elementary.
Boys Lacrosse
Lowell’s Boys Lacrosse Camp is set for June 9-11 for athletes in 1st through 8th grade under the direction of Eric Bredin.
Camp will run from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Turf Field. The cost is $52.
The camp is open to both experienced and non-experienced players and will focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game through instruction and competitive games.
Equipment needs vary by age. 1st and 2nd graders only need a stick. Players in older grades should have at least a helmet and additional gear. Full equipment includes a helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shoulder pads, cup, and stick.
Dance
Lowell’s Dance Camp will run June 10-12 for students in K through 8th grade.
Grades K-4th will attend from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., while grades 5th-8th will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $57.
Camp will be held at the Middle School Gym.
Golf
Lowell’s Golf Camp is scheduled for June 10-11 for boys and girls in incoming 6th through 9th grade. The camp is directed by Arrowhead Golf Course staff and high school coaches.
Camp will run from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Arrowhead Golf Course. The cost is $37.
The camp is designed to teach the basic fundamentals of the game, including grip, stance, swing, short game, rules, course etiquette, and course maintenance. Campers must provide their own clubs.
Tennis
Lowell’s Youth Tennis Camp will run June 15-19 for boys and girls under the direction of Chris Phillips and Sue Beute.
Camp is split by age group. Ages 5-11 will go from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and cost $62. Ages 12-18 will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and cost $67.
Camp will be held at the LHS tennis courts. The camp is designed for both beginners and advanced players, with optional supervised inter-city competitive play on Fridays at no additional cost. A T-shirt is included if enrolled by May 20.
Girls Lacrosse
Lowell’s Girls Lacrosse Camp will be held June 16-18 for athletes in 1st through 8th grade under the direction of Mallery Yaw.
Camp will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Turf Field. The cost is $67.
Participants will learn stick skills, game basics, and take part in fun games and relays.
Soccer
Lowell’s Youth Soccer Camp is set for June 22-24 for boys and girls under the direction of Joseph Woodruff.
K-2nd grade will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and cost $42. 3rd-8th grade will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and cost $52.
Camp will be held at the Turf Field. Incoming freshmen are asked to attend the high school camp instead. The camp will focus on technical development, team tactics, and game competition. A T-shirt is included.
Cheer
Lowell’s Cheer Camp will run June 23-25 for students in K through 8th grade under the direction of Dayna Crumback and the Lowell Cheer Staff.
Grades K-2nd will attend from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and cost $47. Grades 3rd-8th will go from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and cost $82.
Camp will be held at the High School Freshman Commons. Campers will learn chants, band dances, the school fight song, stunting, tumbling, and participate in fun activities. The camp also includes a final day performance for friends and family.
Softball
Lowell’s Girls Softball Camp is scheduled for June 24-26 under the direction of Matt Dood.
1st-5th grade will attend from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while 6th-8th grade will run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $52, which includes a T-shirt.
Camp will be held at the High School Softball Field. Athletes will work on basic softball skills including throwing, fielding, and hitting with help from the varsity coaching staff and players.
Crew
Lowell’s Crew Camp will run July 13-17 for students in 7th through 12th grade under the direction of David Cadwallader.
Camp will go from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell Township Grand River Riverfront Park. The cost is $87.
The camp is designed as an introduction to rowing, with an emphasis on teamwork, fitness, and fun.
Cross Country
Lowell’s Cross Country Camp is scheduled for July 22-25 for boys and girls in incoming 7th through 12th grade under the direction of Brian and Linsey Smith.
This is an overnight camp held at Carter Park in Ludington. The cost is $152.
The camp will include two-a-day workouts on trails, team bonding activities, beach time, and campfires.
Wrestling
Lowell’s Wrestling Camp will be held July 22-24 for novice wrestlers age 9 and under under the direction of Kyle Slocum and Matt Dood.
Camp will run from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Middle School Balcony. The cost is $52, which includes a T-shirt.
