Softball Hosts 2026 Media Day

The defending River Cities Alliance champion softball team is Lowell, and they kicked their season off in style with their media with parent and photographer Chris German, CTG Photography.

Lowell will field a varsity and JV team this year, kicking their season off on the 28th of March. Varsity will host a Saturday doublehead with Grandville while JV will be out at Grandville. Other highlights on the schedule include a May doubleheader with Greenville at Cornerstone University, Community Day in May against Allendale, and Senior Night against Sparta on May 11th.

Head Coach Matt Dood is back for his fourth season in charge assisted by Max Pennock, Kailee Pennock, Cody Cichocki, and Rick Dood.

Lowell will have five new varsity players; Hazel MacLeod, Kaylee Stein, Lily Dyer, Katelyn Glupker, and Ava Schulz. On the JV side an interesting trio, three Lowell girls wrestling all-state placers join the team in Tatianna Castillo, Veronica Tapia, and Analize Tapia.

Returning varsity players include 3B/C Allison Raison, P/2B Bella Calhoun, MIF/C Gabby Curtis, OF Ruby German, 2B/OF Jordan Velzen, and C/SS Amaya Jackson. Jackson who bowled in the winter will be doing double duty this spring as she’s also playing girls lacrosse.
