Wrestling Quarterfinal - Lowell 71, Fruitport 8
Lowell was pretty decisive in their 71-8 win on Friday Night. It was good to see plenty of different faces in the lineup, and they were all looked great. Guys like Keith Tett, Gabe Olin, George Parsons, Eli Freel, having wrestlers like that not on the individual state lineup and still being able to go out and record falls in a state quarterfinal win is just tremendous depth to have.
All but two matches were decided by fall and one of those was a technical fall, so there was really only one close match which was that state-ranked match at 132.
On another note, why teams continue to sacrifice a team point for a fleeting unsportsmanlike gesture in a 63 point loss is a bit beyond me, but credit the officiating for their consistency of this over the years.
It is New Boston Huron tomorrow in the semifinals at noon (well today, it’s 3:38am writing this after plenty of photo editing). A lot more ranked matchups against NBH in what will be our first ever time on the mat against the Chiefs.
