Lowell athletes, families, alumni, and supporters will have a chance to gather before the start of the fall season at the Lowell Youth Football and Cheer Community Kickoff on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Burch Field.
The event is open to the entire community and will bring together athletes from across Lowell’s sports programs and age levels. Live music, food and refreshments, games, and activities for all ages are planned throughout the evening.
Lowell Youth Football and Cheer provides several options for young athletes. Flag football and flag cheer are available for children ages 4 through 7. Tackle football is offered for students in third through sixth grade, while tackle football cheer is open to students in grades three through eight.
The volunteer-run program introduces young athletes to football and cheer while emphasizing teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and preparation. Lowell’s tackle football teams compete through the West Michigan Youth Football League, helping players build a foundation before moving into the community’s middle school and high school programs.
Registration for the upcoming season closed July 12. Additional information about Lowell Youth Football and Cheer is available at lowellyouthfootball.com.
The kickoff will conclude with a blessing of Burch Field and Lowell’s student-athletes. Organizers plan to gather participants and community members to pray for a safe, successful, and memorable season for everyone involved.
Players, families, alumni, fans, and other community members are invited to attend.
