Lowell opened the RCA season by shaking off the spring break rust in a tri-meet against Sparta and Cedar Springs. Using balanced scoring across all events, the Red Arrows split the meet with a win over Sparta and a close loss to Cedar Springs. The margin against the Red Hawks was just eight points, the equivalent of a single first-place finish or five points across the 17 contested events.
Marshall Huhn led the way as a multi-event winner, taking both the 800 and 1600 while also running on the victorious 3200-meter relay team. Marek Pullen delivered one of the standout performances of the day, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.11 seconds, which now ranks No. 2 all-time in Lowell High School history. Overall, Lowell recorded 89 personal bests and had 13 performances meet the varsity letter automatic qualifying standard.
Lowell returns to action Friday at the Hastings Invitational.
