Lowell Area Schools voters are choosing three Board of Education members in Tuesday’s election, with four-year terms on the ballot.
Incumbents Jared Blough, Jennifer Dougherty and Patrick D. Nugent are seeking re-election. Jake Tjapkes also appears on the ballot, but Lowell’s First Look reported that he withdrew after moving out of state.

8:30 p.m. Eastern: Kent County’s portal is now showing an election-night update, timestamped 8:11 p.m. It lists 3 of 16 precincts reporting for Lowell Area Schools, but every candidate total is still displayed as zero and percentages are blank. Those three precincts are Boston, Campbell and Keene in Ionia County; the other 13 are marked not reported. We are keeping vote totals pending until usable returns appear. No winners have been called.
10:40 p.m. Eastern check: New unofficial returns have been posted. Kent County’s 10:35 p.m. update lists 6 of 16 precincts reporting, with 5,465 candidate votes counted. Patrick D. Nugent, Jared Blough and Jennifer Dougherty hold the top three positions in these partial returns. No winners have been called.
