Meet the 2026 Lowell Football team and their honorees. All photos courtesy of Heather Eveland.
Lowell Football Honorees
Dawson Morgan (1) is playing in honor of his grandpa Morgan who lost his battle with lung cancer. He is joined on the field by his father Justin and his Uncle Joe.
Gabe Barrera (2) is playing in memory of his great grandpa Miranda who lost his battle with cancer. Gabe is joined on the field with his dad, Victor Barrera.
Ethan Dennings (5) is playing in memory of his Great Grandpa Parker who lost a hard battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma. Ethan is joined on the field with his dad Brent Dennings.
Justin Ungurean (7) Justin is playing in honor of longtime family friend, Deb Veenstra. Deb has bravely battled kidney and breast cancer and continues to fight as she faces new cancer cells. Today, Justin is joined by Deb and her husband Dennis.
Kamden Kennedy (8) & Braven Kennedy (32) are playing to honor the memory of their Great Grandma Laura Riojas, who passed away in 2022 from tongue cancer. Joining them on the field is their mom Shannon and Aunt Mackenzie.
Ian Kuntz (9) is playing in memory of his Grandma Norma Rowland, who fought hard and lost her 5 year battle with uterine cancer in February of this year. Ian is joined on the field with her husband Russ; and her daughters Stephanie, Ashley, and Kerri.
Weston McFarland (10) is playing for Todd Parcheta, an LHS graduate that recently overcame Hodgkin’s lymphoma and is in remission. Todd is walking tonight.
Adam Wewer (12) is playing in honor of his Grandpa, Steve Wewer, who beat prostate cancer in September of 2013. Adam is proud to celebrate his grandfather being cancer-free and he’ll carry his grandpa's strength and inspiration to fight with him onto the field tonight.
Sabin Ingram (13) is playing in honor of his uncle Chris Ingram who is a kidney cancer survivor. He had surgery to remove one kidney and has been cancer free since then. Chris joins Sabin on the field tonight.
Eli Freel (15) is playing in honor of his Aunt, Deb McDaris. Deb was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 1999 and Thymus cancer in 2025. She is a two time cancer survivor and her niece Morgan Smillie joins Eli on the field this evening.
Abram Kennedy (16) is playing to honor the memory of his Great Grandpa Craig Starkweather, who passed from cancer of the common bile duct in 2024. Paula Starkweather is proud to walk with Abe tonight in loving remembrance of her husband.
McKoye Yaw (17) is playing in honor of his Papa, Dan Hoffman, who courageously battled prostate cancer and beat it in July of 2024. Tonight, McKoye is proud to celebrate his Papa’s strength, resilience, and victory. Walking along with Papa are his grandchildren.
Gage Lyons (18) in memory of his cousin Tracy Crumback, who just two weeks ago, lost his battle to stage 4 metastatic melanoma on September 2nd 2026. Representing Tracy tonight is his dad Paul Crumback, and daughter Coach Dayna Bosma.
Mitchell Eikey (20) is playing for Aunt Kim Haller who was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of breast cancer in 2025 and has fought a tough fight to thankfully say she is now cancer free.
Carter Oxley (22) is playing for his aunt Shari Cole Carter who won her battle with brain cancer in 2021. Carter is thankful to have her here tonight supporting him and the rest of the Arrows.
Evander Ayala (23) is playing in honor of a family friend, Kristine Stedman, who beat breast cancer almost 10 years ago. Evander is honored to be playing for Kristine and recognizing the victory she had. Evander is walking with Kristine Stedman tonight.
George Parsons (24) is playing for Cory Dale Bartosh. Cory passed away at the age of 45 after a brave cancer journey. Here tonight to support him through Lowell Pink Arrow, are his mom; Vicky Bartosh and nephews Wyatt and Emmett Boomers.
Syrus Redman (27) is playing for his great-grandma, Sweetheart, who at 94 years young is courageously beating breast cancer. Joining him on the field is his mother, Amanda, who defeated breast cancer 2½ years ago and remains cancer-free today.
Seth Kraatz (33) is playing in honor of his papa Robert Falduto. Bob was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in 2011 and fought for four years until cancer took his life in 2015. Joining Seth on the field is his mom Jeanna, dad Nathan, and sister Lena.
Colton Merithew (45) is playing in memory of his grandpa, Clyde Minor, who lost his battle to lung cancer in 2019. Colton is joined on the field by his grandma, Tami Minor, and is proud to remember his grandpa as he plays tonight.
Wyatt Penninga (48) is playing for his cousin Connor Miller who was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in March of 2024 and is now in remission after six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiation therapy sessions.
Jacob Flickinger (49) is playing in honor of his Grandpa Jim Flickinger who lost his battle from his recurring cancer in 2024. Jacob is joined on the field by his father Michael Flickinger.
Noah Catlin (50) is playing in honor of his grandma Patty Catlin, who is a two-time cancer survivor. Joining him on the field is grandma and grandpa Catlin and his father Philip Catlin.
Nash Darling (53) is playing for Tonia North who was a pillar of the Lowell community, an LHS graduate, and a lover of antiques. In 2026, Tonia passed away following her courageous, hard-fought battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Luke Fricke (56) is playing in honor of his Grandma, Elaine Akin. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2025. After a long journey, she is currently cancer free. Luke is proud to celebrate her journey by playing in her honor tonight.
Eli Tower (57) & Hudson Tower (58) are playing in honor of Carol Tower.
Noah McIntyre (61) is playing in honor of his grandma, Beverly Stevenson. Over the last 17 years, she has battled lung, uterine and thyroid cancer. She came out victorious and is cancer free. Noah is honoring her journey tonight.
Hunter Minier (62) is playing to honor his grandma Bobbie Minier who is a breast cancer survivor.
Brady Burnett (63) is playing to honor his family friend, Hannah Rabb, who is currently fighting leukemia. Joining them on the field is Hannah's mom Jen.
Cameron Austhof (64) is playing in memory of his Great Aunt Rita who passed away from cancer in 2022. Cameron is joined tonight by his mother who was Rita's niece and goddaughter.
Dawson Christensen (70) is playing today in loving memory of his Grandma, Debbie Story who survived breast cancer, and passed away in 2023 due to endometrial cancer. Joining Dawson on the field is his Grandpa Bobb, dad Ryan, stepmom Molly, and siblings Remington, Thomas, and Taylor, his Uncle Justin and cousin Charlotte.
Tommy Benedict (72) is honoring his Aunt Colleen Drake who was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in 2022. Through her faith, strength, and by the grace of God, she is now cancer-free. Tommy is proud to honor and celebrate her.
Landon Stauffer (74) is playing for his great Aunt Jan Clous, who is a breast cancer survivor. Jan was diagnosed in 2018. Walking with Landon is Jan and her husband, Larry.
Dominic Sweany (81) is playing for Sandy Stauffer. Sandy was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2018 and since then has undergone many treatments. She developed a spot of cancer near her heart but continues to fight for every day. Sandy is nothing short of a miracle.
Jonathan Loyd (88) is playing in honor of his pa George Kinsley who beat skin cancer this year.
