Lowell Splits Quad Meet, Tops Kenowa Hills and Falls Narrowly to Coopersville

Coach’s Article

The Red Arrows team arrived with tired legs as they prepared to take on Kenowa Hills and Coopersville in the second quad of the season. The second week is always tough as the legs get tired after being off for spring break. Lowell used a few new relay line-ups and some strong distance performances to get a solid win against Kenowa and make the meet against Coopersville close. Lowell should have key pieces back when the teams meet again at the RCA conference meet in May. The Arrows still had some great performances as there were two varsity letter AQ marks hit as well as 41 personal records. Seeing the times come down is a good indication on where we are going. One performance to note was freshman Ethan Berg who jumped 19’10.5” to win the long jump and set a big PR.

Lowell will honor long time teacher and coach Kathy Talus as they host the Kathy Talus Invitational on Saturday.
