Lowell used the Kathy Talus Memorial Invitational as an opportunity to honor longtime teacher and coach Kathy Talus while also giving the Red Arrows a chance to chase strong times in a relay-heavy format.

The Red Arrows finished fourth overall with 38 points. Caledonia won the meet with 123 points, followed by Hudsonville with 78 and Byron Center with 55. Grand Rapids Northview rounded out the top five with 15 points.

Lowell’s best performance of the day came in the distance medley relay, where the Red Arrows entered two teams and finished first and second in the race. The second team did not score under the meet format, but both groups delivered strong performances.

The winning team of Tyler Bromley, Cody Bromley, Marshall Huhn and Cooper Byrne crossed in 20:09.51. Lowell’s second team of Drew Swayze, Colin Stawasz, Kingson Remar and Avi Elabed finished just eight seconds behind in 20:17.

The Red Arrows also had a strong showing in the 3200-meter relay. The team of Braam Maatman, Cody Bromley, Tyler Bromley and Huhn finished second in 8:21.26, Lowell’s best time of the 2026 season.

In the sprints, junior Ian Kuntz continued to move up the Lowell record board. Kuntz ran 11.50 seconds in the prelims of the 100-meter dash, earning a spot in the finals and recording the No. 10 time in LHS history.
